Strides for Equality Equestrians is excited to announce that Key Moore has been awarded a Leg Up Scholarship to train with Darrin Mollett of Beverly Equestrian. This is SEE’s first scholarship opportunity geared toward Hunter/ Jumper riders. Key will join Darrin for several days of training at Beverly Equestrian’s winter base in Wellington, FL.

Key grew up riding in Northern New York. She has competed up to 3' in the past, and she and her horse are currently rebuilding their confidence following an injury. She aims to prepare for their first rated hunter/jumper show together.

“The SEE Leg Up scholarship is making a dream a reality by allowing myself and my horse to go and learn from a professional in Wellington, Florida. With Darrin’s vast experience in eventing and showjumping, I am hoping to gain the tools and confidence in myself and my horse as we start competing together.”

Key’s goals don’t end there. She aspires to become a trainer one day. In her application for the scholarship she notes, “I want to be able to provide support to other young riders of color so they are in a position to not limit their dreams and goals. I want to do this by joining a farm and guiding their beginner riders to a safe, healthy, and thorough educational introduction into the equestrian world.”
